Healthy Neighbourhood Working Group

The Healthy Neighbourhood Working Group has been established to help promote the open houses (or other community meetings) regarding the Summit at Quadra Village and provide a venue for folks to help facilitate what is perceived to be in the neighbourhood’s best interests.  This will include communicating with the neighbourhood and lobbying elected officials, CRHD and Island Health representatives regarding planning and amenities that will impact the health of the neighbourhood going forward.  The working group meets at the Quadra Village Community Centre and is open to all concerned Hillside-Quadra residents.  Future meetings will be posted on this website and interested people can get updates from Kelly Greenwell ( 250 388 7696 or ).

*The DBAC (Quadra Village Community Centre) Board has withdrawn support for the idea that community members participate in meetings to assist CRHD and Island Health with their communication / “engagement” strategy. The rationale is that the work put into those meetings has been characterized by CRHD/Island Health as a consultation with the neighbourhood (which it hasn’t been) and that ideas about communication and engagement have always been defined and decided upon by CRHD/Island Health.  Plus CRHD has made it clear that any amenities offered to the neighbourhood will be conveniences and those that don’t require any significant investment.  The Board does hope that  people will attend the open houses (including the one on Saturday, February 27 at SJ Willis Auditorium, 1-3 pm) or other opportunities to give feedback on the Summit at Quadra Village.
